The Laponian area is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
Abisko and Sarek are two of the wonderful national parks that are located in Northern Sweden. Sarek is located in the Laponian area which was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996 and is an area of interest as a whole for hikers and trekkers in Northern Sweden. This is the home of the indigenous Sami people.
